Comprised of six decades of alumni living through the U.S., the Emporia Connection is the official alumni chapter designed to strengthen ties between African American alumni, current and prospective ESU students and the University.

When the Alumni Association challenged chapters to create a legacy, the Emporia Connection Scholarship was born.

The value of the award, and number of students awarded, varies each year based on allocation of funds.
