Selenite Crystal Display
Great Salt Plains Lake in north central Oklahoma is a
unique source of hourglass selenite crystals. ESU field trips over the
years have unearthed many large clusters of the crystals. Several of the
largest are on display at the museum along with an abundant number of single
and twinned crystals. The image below is of one of the smaller clusters
on display. One of the clusters at the museum is more than a foot in diameter.
