Plant Fossils
The museum houses a variety of plant fossils. In addition
to the plants from the Hamilton Quarry Assemblage such as the Walchia
in the upper image on this page, there are tree leaves from the Cretaceous
Dakota Formation of central Kansas, a display of petrified tree trunks,
and a large collection of plants from the Franklin County, Kansas area.
The Pecopteris fern fronds pictured on the bottom are part of the
latter collection.
