In the 9-12-1999 issue of the Topeka Capital-Journal, this photo won
the Animals category in week 4
of a 6 week contest, Topeka Amateur Photo Awards (TAPA).

I said look at each other as mean as you can, but they kept laughing.
The Monarch Watch has published these photos multiple times in their
Season Summary (published in 1998 for 1997).
We tag monarchs every fall to see if they make it to Mexico, their
winter resting place.
The photo on the left is included in a 24" x 36" laminated poster called
"History of Monarch Tagging."
