A basket dinner was enjoyed by forty-five members and friends of the J. D. Riggs’ family at the Florence Senior Center, Florence, Kansas on July 29, 2007 for the 79th annual J. D. Riggs reunion. After a group picture was taken, Dale Riggs and Lela Heacock led the group in the doxology and the invocation was given by Calvin Schmidt.

After lunch, the business meeting was called to order by President, Dianne Dewey. Each person attending introduced themselves and their spouse and told their line of ancestors. First time attendees were: Vickey Frances and Suzie Roe. Minutes from last year were read by Reta Cox, secretary. Dawna Schmidt moved and Esther Henderson seconded that minutes be approved as read. Dianne Dewey asked if anyone knew of address, phone number or email changes to please notify one of the officers so that corrections could be made in the Riggs’ Directory. She, also, asked for any obituaries to be sent to one of the officers for the family tree records. It was moved by Sheryl Bartlett and seconded by Dawna Schmidt to retain the current officers.
