Sunday, August 6, 2000 - Monteverde before breakfast
We stayed at the Monteverde Lodge which appears to be in the wilderness, not in a town. The nearest town is St. Helena. Our hotel had windows in the dining room that looked out into the wilderness and they back yard of the hotel. We saw amazing birds and creatures from the window before breakfast.
This is a varigated squirrel. a Rufous-tailed Hummingbird.
This Tropical Kingbird caught a moth.
To me, this looks like a blue-gray Tanager. The Black-faced Solitaire on the right is brown with orange legs and beak.
We were just gettin on the bus to start our tour for the day when we
were told there were White-faced Capuchin Monkeys (Mono Caro Blanco)
on our hotel roof. This ended up being the best Capuchin photos I
got.
