My research interests include optimizing sample collection / preparations techniques for analytes of biological interest and developing methods for analyzing a broad range compounds. These analytes include endogenous (normally found in or produced by the organism) and exogenous (introduced from outside the body) compounds. The compounds will be of physiological, clinical, pharmaceutical and/or environment interest.
Participation in research is an excellent way for students to improve their laboratory skills, learn techqiques not covered in their courses and gain marketable experience (it looks good on a resume). I am interested in working with ESU undergraduate and granduate students who want to benefit from participating in research.
You can find more information about my research projects on Dr. Davies' Reseach Page
I hold advanced degrees in biology and chemistry. My professional experience includes secondary and college teaching. I also have experience in the chemistry industy as a senior scientist / laboratory manager for an analytical research group. Details can be found on Dr. Davies' Education and Professional Experience page
