Web Contract: Custom Web Address Registration

Provided appropriate paperwork is submitted, Public Affairs & Marketing approval is granted, and web policies are followed, customized web addresses are granted to the following Emporia State University entities:

• All ESU schools, colleges, and departments
• Library Services (including Anderson Memorial Library and Archives)
• Athletics (however, individual sports will not receive customized addresses)
• Any national organization sponsored by ESU or whose member responsible for the web site is a member of the ESU professional staff. However, as soon as the web responsibility passes to another member at another institution, the web site will be removed from the ESU web server.
• Other centers, institutes, offices, and programs of study will not be granted customized web addresses unless the person making the request can show justifiable cause for the granting of such a request.

Addresses must be in good taste, appropriate to the entity making the request and, if at all possible, reflect the entity's name or discipline. (Ex: biology.emporia.edu, not bodyparts.emporia.edu.)

All ESU sites with customized web addresses must have links to the ESU Home Page.

All requests for customized web addresses will be reviewed by Public Affairs and Marketing to make sure the requested name is in keeping with the university's image.
