- Apply for 2013 ESURP

How to be selected for the ESU Summer Undergraduate Research Program:
1. Establish the team. Most faculty are eager to involve highly motivated students in their research or scholarly work. Students should approach professors about opportunities that may exist within their department. Faculty can recruit students from the classes they are teaching or from their advisees. Often there are “Research” or “Independent Study” classes in which students can demonstrate their worthiness and motivation for pursuing a serious, long-term project.
2. Develop a project. Working as a team, develop an idea for a project that can reasonably be completed during the summer months. Look to prior projects for examples and to get a sense of the size and scope of projects selected for this program. Ideally this process will involve some preliminary work during the Fall and Spring so that a strong working relationship between student and mentor can be established.
3. Prepare an application. Download the application materials as a fillable, savable pdf file. Answer all of the essay questions completely. Copy and paste the proposal text into the file. Review the evaluation rubric to ensure your application materials address the criteria established by the URSCA committee.
4. E-mail the Application. After digitally signing the application. E-mail the complete package as a single document to bhinric1@emporia.edu.
