Services
Student Wellness provides programs and services that empower students to succeed both academically and personally.
Sexual Assault Education (SAE) was created to enhance understanding
of the factors which contribute to sexual assault, to help students examine
their attitudes and beliefs about sexual assault, and to advocate for
and support primary and secondary victims of sexual assault. Research
indicates sexual assault is a significant risk to college women. Men are
also impacted by sexual assault, sometimes as victims, but more often
as friends and partners of women who have been sexually violated.
Resource Center
The Resource Center houses print and non-print sources on a variety of topics including, but not limited to, women and work, women's health, women in literature, law and politics, and abuse of women. Come by to browse, find information for a research paper, or to study in a quiet, relaxed environment.
Presentations
Brett Sokolow, JD, gave an enlightening presentation on Febuary 19 entitled Drunk Sex or Date Rape. Over 120 ESU students, faculty and administrators benefitted from this valuable presentation.
The SOS Sexual Assault Education Educator frequently makes presentations to student groups, residence hall floors, and classes on topics such as acquaintance rape, power dynamics in relationships, sexual decision making, sexual communication, sexual harassment, healing from sexual violence, and alcohol and sex.
