Jim Ryan |
| Dr. Ryan has been a member of the ESU theatre faculty since 1992. He holds a B.A. from California State University at Long Beach, an M.F.A. from Wayne State University, a Ph.D. from Michigan State University and received his classical acting training at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA). Jim has been a successful professional actor for over thirty years, appearing in numerous stage, televison and motion picture productions. At ESU he teaches Acting as well as Voice and Diction, Dialects, Survey of Dramatic Literature, Theatre History, Theatre Appreciation and Professional Seminar. In addition to his classroom responsibilities, Jim is faculty advisor for The Educational Theatre Company and directs two productions each year. He has received the Xi Phi Outstanding Faculty Award, the Emporia State University Award of Excellence and the KCACTF Faculty Fellowship for advanced study in performance theory and pedagogy at the Actors Center in New York. He lives in Emporia with his wife and two sons.
