Barb Newell

Barb Newell became the secretary of the Department of Communication and Theatre in fall of 1985. She graduated from the same department with a BFA in Communication in May of 1982. A native of Wichita, KS and a 1977 graduate of Bishop Carroll High School, Barb has always enjoyed singing, and has been a member of the Twin Rivers Sweet Adelines Chorus for 21 years. She has even appeared on the ESU stage in six productions: The Apple Tree, Our Town, Working, Baby, Once Upon a Mattress, and Godspell. . Barb's husband, Dennis, is a math and science teacher at Emporia Middle School. They have three children - Jesse, Jake and Jennifer.
