Ronald Q. Frederickson Theatre |
The Ronald Q. Frederickson Theatre, completed January 2001, is the ESU Theatre's second production venue. The theatre space was originally a gymnasium.
The Frederickson is basically a small black box that provides a flexible space for many small to medium sized productions and class projects. Portable risers are used to create a variety of stage and seating configurations for audiences of 100 to 125. |
| Production support is provided with a small scene shop, several storage rooms, and a large dressing room. A large control booth is located on the upper level over looking the stage from the west wall. A mezzanine on the upper level is located along the east wall. The lighting grid is located 20 ft. above the deck.
The stage lighting system is by ETC with 86 dimmers and an Express 24 / 48 console. Stage lighting fixtures are primarily by Colortran and Strand.
|
The sound system is used primarily for background music and sound effects. A 12 channel mixer is used to control sources that include: CD, Cassette, and Mini-disc. A patch bay is provided between the three stereo amplifiers and the 9 speaker jacks located on the stage. Microphone jacks are located in the four corners of the stage.
A stage monitor and inter-com is provided. The stage has a full set of masking curtains. The south wall of the theatre is painted off white but may be covered with black curtains.
