The need for professionals in the field of TESOL continues to grow exponentially both nationally and internationally. These professionals are needed in so many sectors, especially the field of education (both in the public school systems as well as community colleges and universities). Emporia State’s TESOL program prepares candidates to serve this increasing need for Teaching English as a Second and/or Foreign Language nationally at college, university, and public school level as well as internationally in private and public institutions world-wide. A master’s degree in TESOL focuses on providing the knowledge and skills needed to teach English to speakers of other languages through studying specialized methods and techniques in TESOL and Applied Linguistics.
