What is the OPES office?
The Office of Professional Education Services (OPES) formerly known as the Student Teaching Office, houses many programs. Among these are teacher licensure, Introduction to Teaching (ED/EL 220) tutoring, and the Family Literacy Program, formerly known as the America Reads/America Counts program.
In addition, OPES serves as the liaison between ESU and school districts or other organizations by placing students, graduate and undergraduate, for laboratory experiences. OPES serves as a student services center and maintains student records for all students seeking licensure, including disposition reports and disclosures of felonies or crimes involving dishonesty, substance abuse, or crimes relating to the welfare of a child.
