What is the OPES office?

The Office of Professional Education Services (OPES) formerly known as the Student Teaching Office, houses many programs. Among these are admissions to student teaching, Introduction to Teaching (ED/EL 220) tutoring, and the America Reads/America Counts tutoring program.

In addition, OPES serves as the liaison between ESU and school districts or other organizations by placing students, graduate and undergraduate, for laboratory experiences. OPES serves as a student services center and maintains student records for all students seeking licensure, including disposition reports, and disclosures of felonies or crimes involving dishonesty or relating to the welfare of a child.
