||Reporters are responsible for conducting interviews with appropriate subjects and subsequently writing assigned stories. They must maintain appropriate and timely contact with individuals associated with their assigned beats and draw story ideas from those beats. Story ideas are to be shared at weekly meetings, which reporters are required to attend.
In addition, reporters must write stories in correct AP Style, as instructed, and meet all assigned deadlines. Reporters need not hold regular office hours – unless otherwise directed by the managing editor – but must report to The Bulletin office at least once daily to check their personal mailboxes for assignments, messages, edited stories, etc.
Reporters are expected to write what is specifically assigned to them in budgets and also to pitch enterprise ideas or work to editors. They may also be asked to write more specifically for news or Art and Entertainment. Reporters are under the guidance of the editors.
||Previous experience is helpful, but not required. Must be reliable and have a professional attitude. Needs to display a strong ability to write clearly and effectively. Good typing skills and good communicators.
