ESU Health Services is available to all enrolled students. Students who pay less than full-time campus privilege fees will be assessed a charge for office visits.
Please call 620-341-5222 to schedule your appointment. You may also schedule your own appointment online by clicking the "Appointments" button on the Home page. Students who become acutely ill during the school day may walk-in, but may have a longer wait as they must be worked into the regularly scheduled appointments.
If you have paid the full-time campus privilege fees, there is no charge for your office visits. Part-time students pay $10 for each office visit, and students who pay no fees (online students) pay $25 for each office visit.. Services such as lab tests. physical exams and medication will also be assessed a charge.. To determine what a specific service will cost, please call 620-341-5222 for that information. You can also ask at the time that you call to make your appointment.
Please be on time (or early) for your appointment. If you are more than 5 minutes late, you may be asked to reschedule your appointment. If your schedule changes and you are not able to keep your appointment, please call to cancel or reschedule it. The visits are free unless you do not show up (or call to cancel); failure to keep a scheduled appointment will result in a $10 "No-Show" charge.
We are not able to file health insurance claims for you at this time, except for those students who have the insurance plan offered through the Kansas Board of Regents, United Healthcare-Student Resources. If you are interested in buying this optional plan, we can give you a brochure. If you have this student insurance, please let us know when you first check in with the Health Services receptionist. For insurance other than the United Healthcare-Student Resources plan, we will give you a paid receipt. You may send this in to your (or your parents') private insurance company if you choose. We are working on being able to file all Health Insurance claims so please bring Health Insurance information with you to each visit.
You are responsible for any charges incurred at the time of service. We accept cash, or checks, and can also bill your student account if you wish. When we bill the student account, the charge is sent over as "Health Services", it does not detail what the service is, to protect your privacy. Those charges can be paid in the same manner you'd pay any other university charges; at the cashier's desk in Plumb Hall, online with a credit card, or by check in the mail.
