What Kinds of Services are Offered?

Counseling services are provided to students by professionally trained staff and supervised interns. Counselors are available by appointment to help with exploring and understanding one's self and life in matters of individual, marital, family and vocational concerns. All counseling discussions are treated confidentially and referrals for more comprehensive assistance are arranged when desirable. An appointment with a counselor can be scheduled by calling(620) 341-5222 or by stopping by 250 Southeast Morse Hall.

Biofeedback Services teaches students to use biofeedback and other techniques for self-awareness and relaxation. Biofeedback can be useful for test anxiety reduction, problems with headaches, general relaxation training and self-regulation training and more.

ADAPThe Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention program seeks to support students, faculty, and staff in creating and maintaining a campus environment that encourages and supports healthy lifestyles. Project services include consultations, referrals, interventions, presentations and research. Our resource center, located in 213 South Morse Hall, has both print and non-print materials available.

The Prime For Life: On Campus Talking About Alcohol Class meets the requirements for Alcohol Information School required by the courts. The ADAP program employs a support staff of students each year to assist with project goals.

Case Management Services are offered in the Counseling Center. These services are available to currently enrolled ESU students. Case management services include, but are not limited to, providing assistance in locating campus and community resources and support services, overcoming personal or academic challenges through goal setting and
time management. These services are provided in an effort to empower students to become successful and productive in their academic aspirations. Stop by the office or call 341-5222, if you have any questions or would like to schedule an appointment.

Are There Fees?

There are no fees charged to ESU students for counseling or biofeedback appointments.  We do charge a $10.00 "no show" fee if you miss your scheduled appointment and do not contact us in advance.
