Dear New Member of the Hornet Family,

Welcome to the ESU Family! I am thrilled to learn that you will be an Emporia State student this coming fall semester. You have already made many important decisions regarding your education. At ESU, you will be making many more. As part of maintaining a safe and healthy community that enhances your ability to learn and make well-informed decisions, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention Program (ADAP) requires each first-year freshman to complete eCheckup To Go.

eCheckup To Go is an online, interactive prevention program designed to educate you about alcohol and its effects— both physical and mental. This course creates a learning experience that:

  • Motivates behavior change
  • Resets unrealistic expectations about the effects of alcohol
  • Links choices about drinking to academic and personal success
  • Helps students practice safer decision-making
  • Engages students to create a healthier campus community

To complete eCheckup To Go, you will need a computer with Internet accesss. If access is difficult you may reach Lindsay Bays at or 620-341-5222.

eCheckup To Go must be completed to before the first day of classes.

All responses are confidential; Emporia State University staff will never see individual students’ answers. You can feel confident that providing truthful answers – no matter what they are – will not put you at risk in any way

The link for eCheckup To Go will be emailed to your student email account in July.

Once again welcome to Emporia State University, I look forward to seeing you on campus this fall!

If you have any further questions, please contact Lindsay Bays  at  or call 620-341-5222.
