Residence Hall Life

Approximately 1,000 students of all classifications are part of the on-campus living experience in the residence halls at Emporia State University. Housing for upperclass students is located in the Morse Complex: Abigail, Central, and Northeast Halls. Upperclass housing provides an on-campus living environment for students who enjoy the convenience and community offered by residence halls.

Emporia State’s First-Year Residential Experience (FYRE) is located in the Towers Complex: North Tower, South Tower, Singular, and Trusler Halls. The FYRE program features specially designed programs, spaces, and staff to assist first-year students with the transition to college. FYRE residents may also elect to reside in Freshmen Interest Groups (FIGs) to enhance their educational and residential experience.

All residence halls offer comfortable rooms for one to four students, as well as study areas, recreational equipment, high-speed internet, the ESU movie channel, a laundry and other conveniences that create a positive living-learning atmosphere. Students are encouraged to participate in many hall activities and programs, including hall governments.

In addition to on-campus housing options, Emporia State University Apartments offer an apartment living option to upperclass and graduate students. The apartments feature 60 one-bedroom and 30 two-bedroom apartments, free off-street parking, and a brand new community and laundry area.
