Emeritus Professor of History

I am Loren Pennington, Roe R. Cross Emeritus Professor of History. I received my B.A. from Western Michigan University in 1947, my M.A. from Brown University in 1956, and my Ph.D. from the University of Michigan in 1962. Presently, I teach as an Adjunct Professor of History.

My recent publications include editing The Purchas Handbook: Studies of the Life, Times and Writings of Samuel Purchas, 1577-1626, 2 vols. (London: Cambridge University Press for the Hakluyt Society, 1997). My present research is on the Studebaker Corporation Automotive Operations, 1945-1966.

My other interests include performing the role of Governor Alfred M. Landon in the History Alive! program sponsored by the Kansas Humanities Council.
