Graduate Certificate Program in History

The graduate certificate program is meant for teaching professionals in community colleges and high school who teach college level courses and who need to meet the 18 hour coursework goal of the Higher Learning Commission.

The History Graduate program at Emporia State will offer this certificate which will fulfill the above needs as part of our regular online curriculum. The student will be required to take the two semester course offerings in American Historiography (HI 701 and HI 702) and elective readings courses among a wide variety of topics in both American and world history.

-HI 702: American Historiography since 1877

Electives

Graduate Reading classes on topics of interest to students in both American and world history.  These choices are offered every semester, including summer sessions.  All courses at the 700 level and above are considered to be graduate level.
