JOHN MACGILLIGAN

John, Cornelius and Grace's last son, became a farmer. When the famine hit, he was lucky enough to be able to afford to immigrate. He moved with his wife, Anna Mulligan, to Australia. After several years of doing menial labor on various stations (farms), John was able to set himself up as a fairly successful sheep rancher in the Australian outback. He and Anna had five children, Joseph, John, Rose, Magdeline, and Philip.
