JACOB MACGILLIGAN

In an effort to help out her family and ward off her own feelings of isolation in the New England countryside, Martha saved enough money to bring her younger brother, Jacob to the United States. Unfortunately, the ship ride over was too much for him. It was reported that two weeks out of Liverpool he died of consumption and was buried at sea.
