INSTRUCTIONS FOR VIEWING THIS SITE

This site was designed to emphasize of the stories created by students at Emporia State University about the fictious MacGilligan family. This led to the simple five areas listed in the graphic at the top of each page - Project Home Page, The History, Resources, The MacGilligan Family Tree, and Credits.

A wealth of information exists behind the MacGilligan Family Tree. By clicking on any of the names, you will access the biographical sketch of that person. Some of these biographical sketches have accompanying graphics/illustrations from literature about the Irish Famine (view the Bibliography and Internet Resources for information on where these were obtained from). All of the sketches have their immediate family's tree on the right side of the page. The names on those also link to the subsequent biographies. This increases the the ability to browse through the site.

So, for the organized, left-brained person, you may choose to view the site in an orderly fashion; and you right-minded folk may meander through the family tree and subsequent forest.
