Like her mother, Heather became a seamstress. She eventually married an up-and-coming newspaper editor named Benjamin Garret. Garret spent a great deal of time trying to expose corrupt politicians, like Heather's brother Matthew. It was only his marriage to the ward boss's sister that kept Benjamin from getting his head bashed in or his newspaper burnt to the ground.
