HAROLD MACGILLIGAN

Harold MacGilligan was Liam and Ann's fourth child, and the patriarch of the most prolific branches of the MacGilligan family. Harold gave up on farming fairly early, and moved to the city of Limerick to find his fortune. Once there he went into business as a fruit and vegetable peddler. Every day he would get up at 5:00 in the morning and push his cart to the whole food warehouse and fill his cart with different fruits and vegetables depending on the season. He would then spend the rest of the day pushing his heavily laden cart through the streets of Limerick calling out to the public at large what he had for sale. In the process of hawking fruits and vegetables all over Limerick, he met his wife, Rebecca Currie. Rebecca was a grade school teacher and was generally classified as a spinster. However, after several years of buying vegetables from Harold that changed. Harold and Rebecca went on to have seven children, Luke, Grace, Eliza, Ruth, Liam, Patrick, and Paul.
