Dr. Gary Wyatt has taught at Emporia State University since 1988. His areas of expertise include education, social welfare, research methods, social psychology, and introduction to sociology. He is the 1998-1999 recipient of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences Annual Award for Excellence in Teaching. He has recently served as President of the Faculty of Emporia State University. His research focuses on sociology of education. Currently he is writing a book on the home school movement. Recent publications explore the obsession with beauty experienced by adolescent females and the public image of academics and academic careers. He enjoys camping, hiking, reading, and spending time with his family.
