Bachelor of Arts in Sociology
|
The Bachelor of Arts degree in sociology traditionally has been a broad-based liberal arts degree designed to provide the student with a solid foundation in sociology and course work in a variety of other liberal arts disciplines. The Bachelor of Arts degree program is designed primarily for those students who intend to pursue an advanced degree in sociology, anthropology, social work, criminal justice or law. In keeping with that tradition, students pursuing a B.A. in sociology at Emporia State University are required to complete a total of 33 semester hours in sociology, anthropology and crime and delinquency studies. All students working toward the BA in sociology are required to complete a 21-hour "Required Core" and 12 hours of department electives (300 level or above). |
