Application for Undergraduate Continuing Students
Department of Sociology and Anthropology

Complete this application only if you have completed a degree contract and are a declared major of the above Department.

To be considered for a departmental academic scholarship, students must have a 3.0 - 3.24 cumulative GPA and completed this application and submit to the Department of Sociology and Anthropology by FEBRUARY 9, 2008.

Continuing Student - For scholarship review, the definition of Continuing Student is a student who has completed 12 or more credit hours at Emporia State University at the end of the fall semester prior to the February 9 priority date, or a former ESU student who has completed a minimum of 12 credit hours and has not attended any other post secondary institution since attending ESU.

Scholarship recipients must be enrolled full-time during the period for which they receive a scholarship (minimum of 12 credit hours). Departmental Academic Scholarship Applications will be reviewed between February 27 and April 27 by a scholarship committee within the department. You will be notified by letter from the department following review of this application.

Activity scholarships (i.e., music, debate, drama, art) are awarded by the respective departments.

Additional scholarships (i.e., ACT, resident of "x" county, graduate of "x" high school, etc.) will be awarded by the Admissions and/or University Advancement office. The Emporia State University admission's application must be completed to be considered.

Athletic scholarships are awarded by the appropriate coaches. Please check with the appropriate departments or coaches for priority dates and requirements.

Scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic achievement, donor restrictions, and availability of funds.

Note: If you are interested in applying for additional financial aid, please complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) this application may be picked up in the Financial Aid office Plumb Hall 103. Priority date for applying for federal aid is March 15.
