Dr. Evandro Camara focuses his teaching and research on sociological theory, religion, race and ethnicity, and cultural sociology. His research work has been mainly in comparative ethnicity and the sociology of culture. He has published articles in this area, as well as a book The Cultural One or the Racial Many, 1997, and is currently at work on another volume. In 1998-1999 he was nominated for the Xi Phi Teaching Award.
