Instructor Mrs. Jan Borst continues to teach Marriage and Family along with other family related courses. Her presentation at this year's Midwest Sociological Society's conference is on married couples who work together, meshing work and family life. She is organizing two sessions for the conference.

On campus, Mrs. Borst continues to serve on the Student Publications board and is faculty sponsor for the Lutheran Student Organization. She also was campus chair for the United Way campaign.

Off campus, Mrs. Borst is on the Board of Directors and President-Elect of the United Way of the Flint Hills. She is an advisor to the Emporia High School Family and Consumer Sciences Department. She also is a coordinator and instructor for The Family Life Academy, a two-year program developed by the Kansas District of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod aimed at enhancing congregational family ministry.
