Spotlight on Students

Kathy Jays

Kathy Jays

Kathy Jays is a full-time student from Hugoton, Kansas, attending ESU in the School of Library and Information Management. Kathy comes to the SLIM program with 23 years’ experience in the Library Sciences field. She feels a Master’s in Library and Information Management will open new doors for her and help her secure a job in Texas – where her 3 grandchildren are located. Kathy could have chosen a program at Oklahoma University in Norman as it was closer, but she had heard good things about the SLIM program at ESU. She decided the 6 hour drive to Emporia would be the better option to stay in-state. Kathy plans to graduate Spring 2018.
