Kansas SCALA Summer Library Tour

Each semester our Student Chapter of the American Library Association organizes a library tour featuring different locations around the various cohorts. The tour is designed to provide students with a better sense of different types of libraries in the area and potentially have a chance to network with possible future colleagues and/or employers.

This year we are focusing on the Independence, MO area! We have made contact with Mid-Continent Public Library, Midwest Genealogy Center, and the Harry S. Truman Library & Museum and they have all expressed interest in having a group of us come down for a visit and to tour their facilities on Saturday, July 22nd.

If you are interested in attending, please fill out the form via Survey Monkey at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/QM2SBKP so that we are aware of who to expect and to help coordinate any carpooling options.

Mohammad Alzahrani

Mohammad Alzahrani

Mohammad Alzahrani is a full-time student here at Emporia State University in the School of Library and Information Management. He obtained his Bachelor’s in Library and Information Science in his home country of Saudi Arabia. Mohammad was chosen to attend ESU to attain his Master’s in Library and Information Science specifically to return to the academic library where he worked previously and begin training other employees. He will be teaching others what he has learned here in the SLIM program. Mohammed says he prefers the weekend classes because he enjoys being ‘face to face’ with the instructor and other students. Mohammed plans to graduate Spring 2018.
