Rehabilitation Services Education

ESU's Rehabilitation Services Education (RSE) program is designed to prepare you for various positions as a rehabilitation service specialist in many human service settings or for graduate study in Rehabilitation Counseling and related professional service fields. As a graduate of this program, you will have the opportunity to work with people in community support services, alcohol and drug abuse counseling, mental health and independent living services. You will also have the opportunity to work in settings providing services to the elderly, in community corrections, in therapeutic recreation or a number of other challenging career options. Students completing this program are prepared to immediately take on a professional position or continue their training and education in graduate school.

  • Median Starting Salary: Approx: $32,000*
  • After 5 Years Experience: Approx: $36,000

Quick Facts

  • Only about 55 programs nationwide offer a major/emphasis in disability studies or rehabilitation services.
  • A major focus of this program is to train graduates to assist persons with disabilities to move from a status of dependence to one of independence so that personal adjustment and/or the opportunity to succeed economically through gainful employment can be attained.
