Do you like working with people? Are you comfortable with computer technology? Do you have good communication skills, and do you enjoy the challenge of searching for answers and solving problems? If the answer to these questions is yes, consider majoring in Information Resource Studies (IRS). IRS is an interdisciplinary program at that will prepare you to interact successfully in a competitive global environment. IRS graduates work in a variety of positions, many of which involve the retrieval of information from many sources from around the world. That information is used to assist managers in strategic and tactical decision-making.
What distinguishes this degree from related degrees in management and computer science is the emphasis on information on all its forms (words, numbers, pictures, sounds) and on applying information technology to help people and organizations solve important problems.
