  • Not all instruction will be in the classroom. Both field and laboratory work will be emphasized. You will have the opportunity to participate in many field trips, which are an integral part of your learning and which will build upon the knowledge you gain in the classroom.
  • Many habitats in which students do their work are located within a short distance of Emporia, such as the Neosho and Cottonwood Rivers and the Flint Hills.
  • Students have access to the nearby 18,500 acre Flint Hills National Wildlife Refuge and the 10,894 acre Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve.
