Who we are
Student Health Services serves only currently enrolled,
degree-seeking ESU students who have paid the Student
Health Campus privilege or summer use fees. Students enrolled for six or fewer credit hours will be assessed a one-time pro-rated fee at the time of the first visit each semester. Confidentiality
is assured by law.
Our mission is to
enhance the academic success of all students with an emphasis on wellness and personal growth. The programs and services within Student Wellness provide education, direct services, and resources to empower students to successfully navigate through the many transitions of life and to reach their highest potential.
We encourage students to be current with all immunizations
before coming to ESU, in particular, Tetanus and MMR (measles/mumps/rubella). In addition, all students living in campus housing must receive information about bacterial meningitis and either have documentation of receiving the shot or sign a waiver refusing the shot. We ask that documentation of immunizations be sent to Health Services with the completed and signed Health History form prior to your arrival on campus.
Since campus privilege fees primarily fund Health Services, there is no charge for the visit
to see the nurse practitioners or nurses. Modest
fees will be charged for services such as lab
work, prescriptions, and medical equipment, (i.e., wrist
splints).
We do not accept health insurance assignments, except those
through the State of Kansas Plan, United Healthcare-Student Resources (Link
to Student Resources here) . A receipt will be provided
to students to submit to other insurance companies if they
so choose. |
