Human Red Ribbon Formation-
Members of the ESU community formed a Human Red Ribbon
to show their support for AIDs victims
The ESU Educational Theater Company wrote, produced
and starred in the production of“TEN AMONG US”.
The following are scenes from the 10 monologues about
different people fighting the stereotypesand problems
as victims of HIV/AIDs.

"I didn't mean to get HIV...I'm sorry that I exposed
you."

"My child has HIV"

"I made a mistake...and now I am paying the price..."

"My child is only a week old... and I gave it to
him...help me, Mama!"

The audience is drawn into the powerful performances.

"They were talking about stereotypes...they didn't
know that they were talking about me! It hurt so much,
but I couldn't tell them!"
Candlelight march to Sunken Garden after the production:

IFC Vice-President Eric Fox shares his thoughts at the
candlelight ceremony.

Cold weather does not dampen the spirits of those gathered
to remember and reflect.

student Larry Mitchell reflects with other ESU students.

Meningitis Immunizations
College students, especially those who live in close contact
with others, (i.e., residence halls, Greek
houses, etc.) are at a higher risk for contracting bacterial
meningitis. While your personal risk may be less than
"getting hit by a car crossing the street", about 20% of
bacterial meningitis cases are fatal, and another 20% of
cases have permanent disabilities.
ESU Student Health offers the meningitis vaccine for $90.
One injection should last many years, possibly a lifetime. Contact Mary
McDaniel in the Student Health Center for details (620-341-5223).
