John Rich received in B.S. (1967) and M.S. (1968) degrees from Oklahoma
State University and Ph.D.(1985) from the University of North Texas. All
degree are in accounting. He is a Certified Public Accountant in Kansas and
Oklahoma. Dr. Rich is currently the Associate Dean of the School of
Business. He holds memberships in Phi Kappa Phi, Beta Gamma Sigma, and
Beta Alpha Psi national honorary societies and is currently treasurer and
advisor of the Emporia State Beta Gamma Sigma chapter. He is part president
of the Emporia State Phi Kappa Phi chapteR. Dr. Rich also is a member of the
American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the American Accounting
Association, and the Kansas Society of Certified Public Accountants having
served a term on the Board of Directors of the later. He has been recognized at
Emporia state by being awarded the Xi Phi Outstanding Faculty Member Award
(1974), the Citation of Excellence by ESU Athletics (1993), the University
Service Citation from the ESU Alumni Association (1994), and the University
Service Award (1996). Dr. Rich has served as the University=s Faculty
Athletics Representative (FAR) since 1990 and has chaired the Athletics
Advisory Board since that time. In the role of FAR, Dr. Rich has been
President of the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association (2001 -
2003) and has chaired the NCAA Academic Requirements Committee (2000 -
2004) and the Division II Degree Completion Committee (2001-2004).
