Kevin Coulson, Associate Professor of Marketing, joined the ESU faculty in the
Fall of 2001. Kevin graduated from the United States Merchant Marine
Academy at Kings Point, NY, in 1975, served as an officer in the U.S. Coast
Guard, and then sailed as a deck officer on oil tankers in the American
Merchant Marine.
In 1985 he earned an MBA with an emphasis in Marketing from the University
of Missouri-Columbia and (1986) took his first formal teaching position at
Northeastern Missouri State University (now Truman State) in Kirksville, MO.
In 1993 Kevin graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a Ph.D.
in Business (Marketing).
Dr. Coulson previously has taught for one year at Emporia State while
completing his dissertation on expertise in sales management. Since then he
has taught at Washburn University (1994-5) in Topeka, KS, and at
Northeastern Illinois University, Chicago, IL, (1995-2001) prior to rejoining
ESU.
Kevin?s research interests include sales, direct marketing, technology and
virtual corporations. He teaches Principles of Marketing, Sales Management,
International Marketing, and is active in assisting with the Marketing club and
student internships.
He spends his spare time working with wood, cars (old and new), and engaging
in outdoor sports.
