The Trouvelot astronomical prints

A rare and valuable set of 19th-century astronomical drawings turned up at Emporia State University, an incident documented in an article by ESU's own. Click here to read the article co-authored by professor DeWayne Backhus, chair of the departments of physical sciences, and earth science graduate student Elizabeth Fitch.

Although E.L. Trouvelot was infamously known for the accidental release of the gypsy moth in North America, his astronomical drawings were exceptional, as the images below testify.
