MEMORIAL RUN/WALK

  WHAT:

This is an amazing 5K run & 2-mile walk that raises funds for the General Scholarship Fund at Emporia State University in memorial of John Blaufuss. John was a beloved figure at ESU who died in December of 2005 while jogging. He served ESU for over 30 years and contributed to numerous scholarship funds for students. A statue of Corky in Union Square of ESU now commemorates him.

  WHERE & WHEN:

This USA Track & Field® sanctioned event will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday, April 19, at the Sauder Alumni Center, located on the northeast edge of the ESU campus at 1500 Highland street. The run/walk will remain on campus and individual and team races will be conducted. Medals will be awarded and a reception will follow at the Sauder Alumni Center.   HOW TO REGISTER:

Registration packets can be picked up during business hours in April at the Sauder Alumni Center. They will also be avialable at the alumni center beginning at 7:30 a.m. on the day of the race, Saturday, April 19. The cost of the run is $15 in advance and $20 on the day of the race. T-Shirts will be available for the first 200 runners/walkers! Sorry, Registrations are non-refundable if the race is cancelled.
