2006 - 2007 ESU Ambassadors at the Kansas State Fair

Each year the ESU Ambassadors go to the Kansas State Fair to represent Emporia State and work the booth. The group spent the day talking to ESU Alumni, friends of the university, and perspective students. During their "down time," they got to tour the fair, play games, and eat tons of great carnival food!!    Full of HORNET pride and spirit, ESU Ambassadors sing the fight song to Emporia State alumni, friends of the University, and prospective students!     ESU Ambassadors realize that Hornets, along with their pride, are everywhere! Whether its alumni, current and former students, or even statues at the State Fair!

What a small world! Kurt Neis, a first year Ambassador, and Brian Bina, a third year Ambassador, didn't realize they would meet family at the fair. Too good to pass up, they had to take a picture! The resemblance uncanny.    And the Grand Prize goes to...Mr. Drew Donahoo, CASE/ASAP chair and second year Ambassador!    Enjoying the beautiful day and admiring the colors on this boat, Missy Davis, a third year Ambassador, Mandy Davis, Spirit chair and third year Ambassador, along with Gatha Soderstrom, a second year Ambassador (fall semester only) take a break to pose for the camera.

Smokey says, "Remember our friends in the forrest. Only you can prevent wildfires!" He promotes fire safety, wildfire prevention, and as it would appear, supports Emporia State University!    Taking a break from walking around the fairgrounds, these Ambassadors decide to direct their efforts towards promoting ESU at the booth.    Though he may not be R2D2, Mandy Davis, Spirit chair and third year Ambassador, along with her sister Missy Davis, who is also a third year Ambassador, become chummy with this friendly robot.

"Gitty up cowboy!" Brian Bina, a third year Ambassador, is a man of many talents; he golfs, needlepoints, and welcomes ESU alumni and friends with grace; but who would have guessed he was an all-star cowboy!     Deliriously happy to be riding in a 15-passenger van at 6:30 in the morning, the Ambassadors get an early start on the day and the Kansas State Fair.    You know what they say, "The early bird catches the worm." In this case, "The early Ambassador catches some ZZZZ's."
