Hilary Moe

Hello everyone and welcome to the Emporia State University Ambassadors page!  My name is Hilary Moe and I am serving as the 2009-2010 Ambassadors President.  I am currently in my senior year pursuing a degree in communication and marketing and hope to jump into the radio industry after graduating!

I feel so honored to be leading Ambassadors, one of the most prestigious organizations on campus.  We serve as the official hosts of ESU and also act as the liaisons between prospective and current students, faculty, alumni, and the president of ESU. Ambassadors are some of the most involved students on our campus and are active in many organizations ranging from fraternities and sororities, Associated Student Government, honor societies, service organizations, and athletic teams.

This is an exciting year for the Ambassadors organization, as we leap into our 25th year of serving ESU.  Also, we are loaded with a new group of students, the majority of them being first-time Ambassadors.  I have already witnessed how enthusiastic and energetic this year’s group is, and I know that we have an enjoyable and thrilling year ahead of us!  You can find the Ambassadors giving campus tours everyday, working alumni events in Emporia as well as out of town, working directly with the university president, and helping with other department functions such as reunions and special events.

While being an Ambassador may seem like a very professional experience, this group also makes sure to have as much fun as possible by hosting E-Zone events which help spread school spirit during athletic events such as tailgate parties before football games, and black out nights at volleyball and basketball games.  The Ambassadors also host Senior Week each spring to take a week to celebrate the accomplishments and graduation of the senior class by providing several fun events for seniors to attend and enjoy.  As Ambassadors we have a strong connection that no other student on campus can feel, and to make that connection stronger, we spend time together outside of meetings and events enjoying each other’s company by taking trips to Kansas City to go ice skating, meeting up for group dinners, and celebrating Thanksgiving, Christmas, and our end of the year banquet together.

The Ambassadors are fortunate to be a part of Affiliated Student Advancement Programs (ASAP).  We have the opportunity to travel to District VI and national network conferences each year where we have been honored with countless awards throughout the past 25 years.  A group of Ambassadors recently returned from Baltimore, MD where they attended the ASAP Network Convention and received many exciting ideas to use within our organization.

I have high expectations for this year with the Ambassador organization.  I am so excited to work with the best group of students on campus, and I know that each and every Ambassador will do their part to make 2009-2010 a year of “Service, Spirit, and Success.”  With the energetic, enthusiastic, and creative bunch we have, I know this will be an outstanding year for the ESU Ambassadors.  Go hornets!

ESU Love,

Hilary Moe
