Hello everyone! My name is Drew Donahoo and I am serving as the 2007–2008 ESU Ambassadors Chair. I am a senior Communication major with minors in Theatre and English. As a third year Ambassador, I have served as a member and Chair of the CASE/ASAP Committee. I know that this will be a great year for the ESU Ambassadors!

The ESU Ambassadors have a history of proudly serving Emporia State University for 23 years. With over 350 alumni, Ambassadors represent all students and virtually every major and organization on campus. Currently, 32 members proudly serve as ESU’s official hosts and as liaisons between potential and current students, faculty, and alumni. The ESU Ambassadors organization boasts members who are active all over the Emporia State campus.  This year, our members include the Associated Student Government Vice President, the Union Activities Council President, the Interfraternity Council President and Vice President, and the Panhellenic Association Recruitment Director, among others!

Be on the lookout for big things from the ESU Ambassadors!  Our Spirit/Senior Week Co-Chairs have quite a few tricks up their sleeves and will be rolling out new ideas and events throughout the year.  Our Vice Chair and CASE/ASAP Chair are hard at work on Homecoming and our Traditions Chair is meeting with campus administration to breathe some fresh air onto our campus!  No matter where you look on campus, an Ambassador is sure to be close by.  Senior Week, E-Zone, Homecoming, Campus Tours… these are just a few of the dozens of projects and activities ESU Ambassadors work on throughout the year.  We work closely with the ESU President, the Alumni Association, and the Admissions Office. We nearly always have some activity we are working on, but we definitely make time for fun too! Dinners out after meetings, trips up to the haunted houses in Kansas City, and our parties celebrating different holidays throughout the year are just some of the great times we spend together, growing closer as friends and as an organization.

You can also see us at the Association of Student Advancement Programs District VI Conferences and Network Conventions where we have a reputation of bringing home multiple awards. This past year the ASAP District VI Conference was hosted in Topeka, KS and the ESU Ambassadors earned the title of Outstanding Ambassador Organization!  Our proud organization stands strong against other national and international universities!  We just returned from a great trip to Columbus, Ohio for the 2007 ASAP Network Convention with tons of great ideas to make our organization and university better!  In January and February 2008, we will be traveling to Denver, Colorado for the 2008 ASAP District VI Conference.

The ESU Ambassadors has been a top organization at ESU and around the country for over two decades. I’m pumped to serve as Chair of this great organization and am looking forward to seeing what this year has in store for us! I couldn’t do my job without the help of our great Exec Board and all of our outstanding members. The year is off to a great start and I’m excited to see what we can accomplish in the next few months. This is sure to be a very successful year for the ESU Ambassadors!

Sincerely,

Drew Donahoo
