START - Students Through Alumni Recruitment Teams

Think back - why did you choose Emporia State University?

An important reason why many ESU alumni and current ESU students chose ESU is that they knew or met an ESU alumna or alumnus - someone who could tell them, first-hand, what it's like to be an ESU student. Alumni can answer questions about classes, campus life, Greek life, professors, and future careers. Prospective students look to alumni to find out what being a Hornet is all about.

How can I get involved?

You're invited to become a member of the Students Through Alumni Recruitment Team (START)! More than 400 START volunteers help recruit students by participating in college fairs, attending events like Hornet Night, and by contacting students interested in learning more about ESU.

As a START volunteer, you determine your level of participation. Every time you attend an event, send a congratulatory postcard to a newly admitted student, or chat with a high school student who is considering applying to ESU, you positively impact that student's impression of Emporia State University.

How do I sign up?

Becoming a START volunteer is easy! Fill out the request information form. Be sure to check the box marked "I want to help recruit new students!" We'll send you a START packet and manual.
