We know that having a child in college can be an exciting yet sometimes stressful experience. You raised them and care about their success and having them away from home can be difficult. We are here to help in any way that we can and we have included some tips, resources and a newsletter just for the parents and family of our residents.
Ultimately our goal is to help our residents become academically successful, get involved and grow from their experiences while at Emporia State. We will work with them to develop the necessary skills for them to become independent and successful after college. We believe that this partnership with the student is key and is more beneficial to helping them help themselves. We have dedicated staff, including Resident Assistants (student staff that live on the floor), Complex Coordinators (post-masters level professional staff that live within the Residence Halls) and office staff (including our Director, Assistant Director, Housing Placement & Information Coordinator and Senior Administrate Assistant) who are prepared to assist your student through their transitions at Emporia State University. Each of us chose this field because we have a passion for this work and the energy, excitement and challenges that college life presents.
There will be times when your student may struggle, either with academics, a roommate or with other adjustment issues. Some level of struggle or conflict is normal in the learning process and this is how we develop as individuals. We believe that a balance of support and challenge is where the most growth occurs. Our staff is here to help. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to connect with us at 620-341-5264 or email@example.com. We will do what we can to answer any questions, partner on solutions or just listen.
Please look over these resources on our website and contact us if you have any questions.
