ESU Family Housing

On-Line Apartment Application

The 96-unit University operated Family Housing apartment complex is located 5 blocks from campus at 1201 Triplett Drive. One- and two-bedroom apartments assist qualifying students by providing pleasant, well maintained housing at the lowest possible cost. Eligibility and priority for living in Family Housing is given to students who:

  1. Have children
  2. Have a marriage certificate or equivalent
  3. Are non-traditional, upperclass students.

Furnishings

All apartments are unfurnished. Apartments are equipped with a built-in kitchen unit (stove, sink, and full size refrigerator), living room drapes, window shades, and a window air conditioner. Some furniture may be available upon request and specific need.

Laundry room ($1.00 per wash load / $1.00 per dry load)
On-site maintenance personnel
Fenced-in playground
Off-street parking for 1 vehicle
Picnic area
Basketball goals and volleyball equipment
Yard Sales may be held on the front lawn

Apartment Rates

2008-2009 ESU Family Housing Apartment Rates*
1 Bedroom Unfurnished - $231/month
2 Bedroom Unfurnished - $310/month

Rates for the Emporia State Apartments are set in the fall for the following academic year. New rates begin each year starting Fall Semester.  They are established to reflect the cost of maintaining the facilities, designated improvements and personnel costs.

* Additional costs: There is a $125 deposit to secure an apartment. Tenants are responsible for all utilities.

Funds received through the Emporia State Financial Aid Office will first be applied to university expenses.

If you are receiving Financial Aid and have received and signed your award letter, you may defer rent payments until your aid arrives. The processing fee cannot be deferred. To arrange a deferment contact the Deferment Office at (316) 341-5340.

*The Deposit consists of the following: ($45.00: processing fee that is non-refundable / $80.00 for damage and security which will be returned provided that there are no charges beyond normal wear and tear, the apartment is clean, and that all terms of the contract have been met when the student vacates the apartment)
