Welcome to the First Year Student Page!
Emporia State University takes great pride to ensure living on campus is the best experience for all our students.
Residential Learning Communities
Residential Learning Communities (RLCs) allow students with similar academic interests to live on the same floor. For more information on what dynamic communities we offer as RLCs visit their page HERE!
Each RLC will be co-ed by room.

Additional information and E-Team Members
Living in the Nest is a great opportunity to get to know fellow students, the community, and to be a part of a fun atmosphere. To help our incoming students, Emporia State has a group of students called the E-Team that assist with orientations and help you to transition into the college life. The team also gives pointers on how to make the most of your college experience or to serve as a friendly face.
Emporia State University requires that all incoming first year students live the residence halls. We believe that to maximize the college experience, living on campus where constant support is provided and fellow students all strive for the same goal, helps with adjusting from life away from home. Resident Assistants are on each floor to help students with the needs of living away from home and the new responsibilities of college life.
To apply for an exemption from the on campus housing requirement please complete and submit the Housing Waiver Request Form, and required documentation.
