Financial Incentive Program for Grant Proposals
The Research and Grants Center will provide, on a trial basis, financial incentives for those faculty and unclassified staff who submit to the Research and Grants Center a competitive grant proposal which has been submitted to an off-campus grant agency. This program is a joint effort between the President's Office and the Research and Grants Center.
Criteria for developing and submitting a grant proposal for the incentive stipend are as follows:
- To be eligible for an incentive stipend, faculty and unclassified staff must submit to the Research & Grants Center a competitive grant proposal to be submitted to an off-campus grant agency. This excludes pre-proposals and letters of intent, individual fellowships and grants, non-competitive renewals, and non-competitive contracts and sub-awards.
- Applicants may receive the incentive stipend for only two proposals each fiscal year.
- Applicants for the incentive stipend must follow existing proposal submission guidelines and policies as set forth by the Research & Grants Center.
- Incentive stipends will be awarded according to the sliding scale below.*
- Co-principal investigators will split the stipend amount.
- Incentive stipend dollars will be placed in a restricted user account within the department to be used for professional development activities.
